1. RULES: The following rules
for the tournaments will be used. These
rules will be interpreted by the tournament committee and all decisions will be
final.
2. TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE: The Tournament Committee shall consist of
the Tournament Director and his staff.
3. ELIGIBILITY: All teams who
have paid the appropriate entry fee of $100.00
4. HEADQUARTERS-TOURNAMENT
INFO-TIMES & DATES-STARTS:
a) Tournament headquarters will be launching area at
tournament headquarters.
b) The entry line for contestants closes 30 minutes prior
to tournament start time.
c) The take-off will be at 7:00 a.m.; unless otherwise
stated on front of entry form or first safe light, at the launching area, with
use of the numbering system, according to entry fee received. Fish until 3:00 p.m. and be in weight-in
line by 4:00 p.m.
d) Tournament rules and the understanding of the same are
the sole responsibility of the fisherman.
All questions pertaining to the rules must be presented prior to take
off.
5. TACKLE & EQUIPMENT-BASS
DIVISION: Only artificial bait or lures
may be used. No live or prepared bait
may be used other than pork or pork-type baits. No trolling is permitted.
Only one rod may be used a one time.
All bass must be caught on road and reel. A landing net may be used.
All fish must be caught on Tournament Lake, and landed from the
boat. Boats may not be trailered during
tournament hours. No intentional snagging of bedding fish is allowed.
6. TACKLE &
EQUIPMENT-CRAPPIE DIVISION: Crappie
may be caught on rod or rod and reel.
Maximum of four rods or rod and reels may be used at one time per
fisherman. Live or artificial bait may
be used. No trot lines, yo-yos, jugs or
snagging are allowed. All fish must be
caught on the designated Tournament Lake and landing met may be used. Fishing from shore is permitted. Trailering of boat is permitted if
contestant stays on the same body of water.
7. PERMITTED FISHING LOCATIONS: Fishing is permitted anywhere within
the tournament lake. No contestant is
allowed to fish within 50 yards of (I) a public dock, (II)another contestant
who was first anchored in a particular location or (III) the weigh-in area once
the weigh-in has commenced. Pan fish
divisions excluded from rule (I) and (II).
8. BOATS AND MOTORS: All boats
and motors must meet the legal requirements of the state where tournament is
held and will be subject to complete safety check by tournament officials. Houseboats and other cumbersome craft will
not be permitted. PFD’s must be worn
during takeoff and when the big motor is running. Safety cut off switches are highly recommended and are to be
attached to life jacket unless not standard equipment. Bank fishing is permitted in the Crappie
Division.
9. SPORTSMANSHIP:
Sportsmanship, courtesy and safety are expected from each contestant. No alcoholic beverages allowed on grounds or
in view of the weigh-in area. Use of
drugs and/or alcoholic beverages at any time during tournament venue will result
in disqualification.
10. CHECK-IN-LATE PENALTY:
All teams must check-in. Contestants
late in doing so will be penalized 1lb. of their total weight for each minute
up to 10 minutes, and then will be disqualified. NO EXCUSES ACCEPTED.
11. SCORING-BASS DIVISION:
Only largemouth bass, spotted bass, and smallmouth bass will be counted. Total stringer weight per team will
determine place. The net weight of one
bass will determine big bass winners.
To be counted, a bass must be applicable minimal lake length
limits. Sport fish will not be
counted. Any bass that does not measure
will cause one pound to be subtracted from stringer weight. Only a 5 fish limit of bass may be weighed
in. Each contestant is expected to take
the utmost care of his fish so that all
living bass may be returned to the lake.
There is a four ounce penalty for each , dead bass weighed in. NO “cold” iced or stringered fish will be
weighed and any such fish brought in will result in deduction of an equal
weight from the stringer weight (AERATED LIVE WELLS ONLY). To be weighed bass must be contained in the
plastic bag furnished by tournament officials. CONTESTANTS MUST STAY WITH THEIR
PARTNERS UNTIL AFTER THEY HAVE WEIGHED IN, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN
DISQUALIFICATION. Upon completion of
the weigh-ins, all fish (with the exception of trophy fish) become the
responsibility of the Tournament
Director and his staff to facilitate a release program.
11b. SCORING-CRAPPIE: Legal
length limits, ten fish per team. No
iced fish.
12. TIES: All ties will be broken and the winner determined by the
team holding the lowest flight number.
13. PROTESTS: Any contestant
wishing to protest the conduct of score of a fellow contestant must do so in
writing and file the same with the Tournament Committee within 15 minutes after
weight-in. The Tournament Committee
may, however, on its own motion, review the decide questions relating to any
contestant’s conduct and score. The
Tournament Committee’s decision is final.
14. POLYGRAPH TEST: Refusal to submit to or failure of the
polygraph test will result in disqualification of that team.
We have read and
understand the rules and enclosed this completed application and our entry to
the Chris Sifford Memorial Bass & Crappie tournament. In signing this application, we hereby waive
and release all contestants, the sponsors, and Tournament Officials from all
claims for personal injury and/or damage incurred in connection with this
